Cruising at 45,000ft in the CJ3 over the Pacific ocean between Panama and Colombia, my co-captain and I were just returning to Costa Rica on a dead head from dropping off our passengers in Bogota. It was about 8pm and the sun had just set. As is usual for the summer, thunderstorms were abundant, but on our flight this evening, we had cleared them all once we were past the mountains in Colombia. All that was left ahead was the typical high altitude cirrus bands that remain from the storms earlier that day. All Click here to read more >>
